1. PRIZES: One (1) person (“Winner”) will receive a guaranteed Audition at the “American Idol” auditions on June 19, 2012 at Time Warner Arena in Charlotte, NC. Winner will also receive hotel accommodations for two (2) nights (June 18-19, 2012) double occupancy at the Hyatt house hotel in uptown Charlotte.

2. HOW TO WIN: No purchase necessary. Beginning June 1, 2012, submit a video of yourself performing a song of your choice to FOX Charlotte (“Station”). Performance videos can be submitted one of the following three ways:
1) Upload your video entry at www.foxcharlotte.com
2) If you have uploaded a video on YouTube that you want to use as your entry, post a link to that video on www.foxcharlotte.com.
3) Submit a DVD of your video entry at the studios of FOX Charlotte. Mailing address is One Television Place, Charlotte, NC 28205. DVDs can also be personally delivered to the station during our regular business of Mon-Fri from 9am to 5pm.
Deadline for all entries is 11:59pm on Sunday, June 10, 2012.
Five finalists (“Finalists”) will be selected based on the strength of the submitted performance and notified by FOX Charlotte no later than 5pm on Monday, June 11, 2012. The five finalists will perform live on “FOX News Rising” (5am-9am) Thursday, June 14 before a panel of judges from WNKS, WKKT and WLNK. Those judges will select the Winner.
3. ELIGIBILITY: Only contestants who are ages 15 to 28 years old on June 5, 2012 are eligible for either “Charlotte Idol” or “American Idol”.
Only legal and permanent residents of the following NC and SC counties are eligible for “Charlotte Idol”: Alexander, Anson, Ashe, Avery, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Chester, Chesterfield, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Rowan Lancaster, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Richmond, Stanly, Union, Watauga and York. (This rule regarding residence applies only to the “Charlotte Idol” contest. It does not apply for “American Idol” auditioning.)
No employee of WCCB-TV, Inc., Bahakel Communications, FOX Broadcasting Company, News Corporation, Fox Interactive Media Group, Inc, Freemantle North America, Inc., AMERICAN IDOL Productions, Inc., 19 TV Ltd., 19 Merchandising Ltd, CKX, Inc., WNKS, WKKT, WLNK, Fort Mill Ford, their parent or affiliated companies (“Sponsors”) or their spouse, immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each, shall be eligible to win. Immediate family members include, but are not necessarily limited to parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. No employee or family member of any employee, of any television or radio station in the Charlotte, NC DMA or ADI is eligible to win.
Additionally, Station reserves the right to disqualify any other person from participation in contest where such participation would, in the sole opinion of the Station and Sponsor, compromise or give the appearance of
compromising the integrity of the contest. No person shall be eligible to win a contest conducted by Station more than one time in any sixty-day period. All winners must sign an affidavit of eligibility, waiver form and an IRS W-9 form.
The five selected Finalists must be able to perform live on “FOX News Rising” on June 14. The “Charlotte Idol” winner must be able to audition for “American Idol” as scheduled by the show producers. If any selected
finalist or winner is unable to perform or audition in accordance with these rules, Station and Sponsors reserve the right to select another entrant as a finalist or winner.
4. MISCELLANEOUS:
(a.) All entries become property of Station and Sponsor. Station and Sponsor are not responsible for entries lost, destroyed or never received while in route via the internet.
(b.) The Finalists and Winner must provide a valid driver’s license or government issued photo ID to verify residence and age. If any individual fails to provide a valid ID or if the Station discovers the ineligibility of the viewer as outlined in the official rules and regulations, an individual can be disqualified from winning prize and Station has the right to select another contestant as Finalist or Winner.
(c.) The Winner must sign a waiver releasing the following entities from any and all claims of liability associated with Contest: WCCB-TV, Inc., Bahakel Communications, FOX Broadcasting Company, News Corporation, Fox Interactive Media Group, Inc, Freemantle North America, Inc., AMERICAN IDOL Productions, Inc., 19 TV Ltd., 19 Merchandising Ltd, CKX, Inc., WNKS, WKKT, WLNK, Fort Mill Ford, their parent, affiliated or related companies including the officers, directors, employees, licenses and assignees of each entity.
(d.) If a Finalist or Winner is under 18 years of age on June 5, 2012, a parent or legal guardian MUST accompany that contestant at “FOX News Rising” and the “American Idol” registration and audition. The parent or legal guardian must bring a government-issued photo ID (example: a driver’s license, passport, etc). A legal guardian must bring also bring proof of guardianship (example: a court order) in addition to a photo ID. A legal guardian must be at least 12 years of age. The parent or legal guardian must also be the guest of the Winner during the two night stay at the Hyatt house hotel. The parent or legal guardian of that contestant must sign all required documents including, but not limited to, waivers, releases, affidavits, registrations and tax forms.
(e.) Station and Sponsors accept no responsibility or liability in conjunction with acceptance of the prize. The winner agrees to hold Station and Sponsor harmless from, any injuries, losses or damages, of any kind caused by or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded here under. Winners must sign a release/waiver that releases Station and Sponsors, affiliated companies and all prize providers from any and all liability, claims, demands or action resulting from or use of the prizes awarded. Station and Sponsors are not responsible for any typographical or other errors in the printing of the contest materials, administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prize.
(f.) All federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state & local taxes.
(g.) Failure to sign any applicable eligibility affidavit , release/waiver or the IRS W-9 form or any other required document not listed here will result in the forfeiture of prizes. In that event, Station and Sponsors can award the prize to another individual.
(h.) By participating, winners consent to the use of their name, likeness and or voice without further compensation for advertising, public relations and promotions purposes.
(i.) All prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable. Station’s and Sponsors’ decision with regard to all matters relating to the contest, including those matters not specifically addressed in these rules, shall be final. Prizes not claimed in accordance with these rules will be forfeited and may not be awarded. Station and Sponsor reserve the right to substitute of equal or greater value.
(j.) In the event production of AMERICAN IDOL or the show’s Charlotte auditions are cancelled or postponed, the guaranteed audition ticket portion of the prizing may be withdrawn without substitution or compensation.
